GEEMS: Innovation project funded by the European Union and the Southern Region
Overall Objective: To adapt this innovative research project on smart meter design for international markets.
Qualisteo is working to transform the measurement market into a service-based market, enhancing raw measurement data with value-added services. The technology leverages enriched data to provide companies with profitable, short-term energy performance services. However, given the unique context of electricity pricing in France, Qualisteo aims to expand internationally to markets where electricity is more costly, targeting major industrial regions such as North America, Asia, and emerging markets.
To achieve this international growth, Qualisteo has faced two key challenges: the diversity of global electricity standards and the need for electrical devices to comply with varying international and national safety standards. Naturally, Qualisteo turned to the European Union’s FEDER fund and regional support to finance the GEEMS project.
The GEEMS (Global Energy Efficiency Measurement System) project was launched to fund industrial research that would strengthen Qualisteo’s competitive position in international markets. Through GEEMS, Qualisteo was able to overcome technological challenges related to signal processing across numerous countries. The new features implemented in its measurement device now enable seamless installation worldwide, free from technical limitations.
Today, Qualisteo’s measurement systems are installed in over 25 countries around the globe, from Japan to Russia, China, Australia, the United States, and Argentina—an outstanding commercial success!
This project is funded by the European Union. Europe is committed to Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur through the European Regional Development Fund.
